Our beginners’ classes are suitable for all ages and all levels of fitness. Students are introduced to the primary foundation poses, commencing with the standing asanas. Each week the class consolidates the work of the previous week and gradually introduces new poses enabling students to make steady progress. Seated poses, twists and the inversion shoulder stand are slowly introduced. Good posture, precision and alignment are key principles covered when learning the asanas. Students are guided to use whatever props they may have available, e.g. bolsters, blankets, straps and bricks to help facilitate alignment and give support where needed in poses.
