“I found Iyengar by chance but I am so glad I did. This style of yoga suits me. True yoga taught by experienced, highly qualified instructors who follow correct principles and are genuinely dedicated to their students. Highly recommend.”
“This is a wonderful group of highly dedicated teachers who offer the highest standard of Iyengar yoga tuition. There is a great sense of community and a genuine commitment from teachers and students alike to further their practice. I love it.”
“I have a lower back problem and I have found Iyengar yoga the best exercise for strengthening my back. Plus the teachers are inspirational in their expertise and very attentive, with small class sizes, to ensure everyone practices the poses safely. I highly recommend Hills Yoga School for anyone considering starting this great exercise.”
Callum(7 years old):
“Stephanie is the best teacher! She makes yoga fun and gives the poses funny names. It makes me feel really good afterwards. My favourite is the 3-point headstand.”
“Stephanie is a very kid-friendly yoga teacher. I recommend her as a great teacher.”
“Iyengar yoga has not only been great for my back, neck and shoulder problems, but has helped greatly with overall wellbeing. The teachers are highly trained and fastidious about correct technique, which is great for anyone with injuries. There is individual attention even in the class situations, and all of the teachers and other students are welcoming and encouraging. Private lessons with Stephanie have also helped me with individual problems, and to gain confidence with the inversions. I would highly recommend Hills Yoga School to anyone.”
“I have practised yoga with Stephanie on a regular basis for almost 20 years. Yoga is an individual journey and one I would never have started without Stephanie’s gentle encouragement and guidance. She is a gifted teacher knowing just the right time to challenge without frustrating her students. The practice of Iyengar Yoga has meant my body is now stronger and more flexible in my 60’s than it was when I was 40 years old and I look forward to continuing the practice of yoga for at least another 20 years. Stephanie’s own professional development in Iyengar teaching means I have the utmost faith in her leading me on to yoga that is just right for my needs as I get older.”
“I had been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis for seven years and was advised by my MS nurse to start practising yoga. The Adelaide Hills Yoga School was recommended to me by a friend, in particular Stephanie Hansen was recommended as the yoga instructor.
So since August 2015, I have been having weekly private lessons and I have been astounded with my level of flexibility and the improvement in my mobility after a lesson.
The experience of yoga is certainly very enjoyable, there aren't many things I would set my alarm for 6:15 on a Sunday morning!. I would most definitely recommend the Adelaide Hills Yoga School.”
“I joined Stephanie’s yoga school over 13 years ago and rarely miss a class or intensive. In recent years I have participated in the retreats, led by Stephanie, and can see these becoming a regular fixture in my life. Stephanie is an inspiring practitioner and teacher. She is highly knowledgeable and skilled, deeply intelligent and insightful, and generous in sharing her knowledge. She empowers us to be curious, attentive and courageous with our yoga practice. Her ability to “multi-task” in a class – tailoring the practice to better suit individuals with injuries or other circumstances that may otherwise present barriers, while keeping an eagle eye on (and providing clear instructions for) the rest of the class – is amazing to bear witness to!
Stephanie’s deep knowledge of yoga, her expertise as a teacher and leader, her compassion and her kindness are all built into the DNA of the yoga school – which makes it a place of learning and personal growth, in a warm-hearted atmosphere and good company. Iyengar yoga is a very positive force for good in my life and I have Stephanie and her school to thank for this.”
